Terms and Conditions

Bliss Retreat is specifically designed for providing accommodations to students attending the Haliburton School of the Arts. Anyone looking to book with us must be able to prove and confirm their application to a program within HSTA. Bookings are handled on a term by term basis and there are no guarantees that a booking for one term will necessarily mean that a room is available for the next term. Conditions 


Deposit
We require a booking deposit equivalent to 1 month's price for that given term to secure your reservation. This deposit will also act as your security damage deposit. Your security deposit will be refunded pending any loss or damages to the rental property or other violations. Any violations of the rental agreement and/or booking conditions may result in loss of the security damage deposit and in some cases may terminate the rental agreement and result in eviction. 

Final Payment
Once the booking is received and accepted, the Applicants are liable for payment of the balance of rent, 30 days before the start of the tenancy. Non-payment by the due date will be treated as a cancellation and a cancellation charge will be payable as listed below under Cancellation.  

Cancellation 
In the event of a cancellation by the Applicants, the refund amount will include all monies except the initial deposit as long as the cancellation date is 30 days prior to the agreed rental date. 

Price Changes 
The Owners reserve the right to amend prices quoted on the Web site due to errors or omissions. 

Method of Payment 
Payments may be made by email transfer. 

Eligibility
Bookings eligibility is based upon the acceptance of Bliss Retreat. In any of these conditions, we reserve the right to make the final decision as to acceptance of the booking. 

Tenants' Obligations 
The Tenants agree: 

2. To pay for any losses or damages to the property, caused by the Tenant or a member of their party (reasonable wear and tear excluded),
3. To take good care of the property and leave it in a clean and tidy condition all times during your stay 
5. Not to part with possession of the property, or share it, except with members of the party shown on the booking form. 
6. Not to exceed the total number of people stipulated in the property description. 
7. Not to cause an annoyance or become a nuisance to occupants of adjoining premises or other guests at Bliss.

Cleaning 

Guests are expected to clean up after themselves in all areas of the property including kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor spaces, and common rooms. Failure to keep the place tidy will result in a $10 per day cleaning fee which will be deducted from the tenant's damage deposit. Should these charges occur, the owner will discuss this with the tenant to ensure understanding and acceptance of these charges.


Duration and Times of Letting 
The period booked cannot be exceeded unless the owner gives written approval. The Tenants will be liable for any cost of whatsoever nature incurred because of an unauthorised extension. 

Maximum Occupancy 
Only the people listed in the rental contract are permitted for overnight accommodation. Any guests that will be staying for the night need to be approved by the owner.

Non-availability of Property 
If for any reason beyond the Owners control the property is not available on the date booked (owing to fire damage for example), or the property is unsuitable for holiday letting, all rent and charges paid in advance by the Applicants will be refunded in full, but the Applicants shall have no further claim against the Owners. 

Liability 
The Owners do not accept liability for any act, neglect or default on the part of the Owners or any other person not within their employ or otherwise under their control, nor for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience, whether to person or property, which the Tenants or any other person may suffer or incur arising out of, or in any way connected with the rental. In addition, the Owner accepts no liability for loss of or damage to the Tenants' possessions on the Owners' property or land. 

Complaints 
All complaints must be notified to the Owners immediately so that an on-the-spot investigation can be made if necessary and remedial action taken if required. In no circumstances will compensation be made for complaints raised after the tenancy has ended when the Tenant has denied the Owners or the Owners the opportunity of investigating the complaint and endeavoring to put matters right during the tenancy. 

Pets 
Pets are not permitted unless the Owner has otherwise specified. 

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside at all. Please smoke outside and use the available ashtrays. 

Noise Restriction
No excessive noise during the day, and a noise restriction after 11.00 pm is in effect to respect other cottagers. 

Inventory
Where an inventory is provided, any discrepancies are to be reported to the Owner or the Housekeeper within 24 hours of arrival, otherwise the inventory will be deemed to be correct. 

Linen
Linens and laundry are not provided. 

Garbage Disposal
Garbage disposal is taken care of by the Bliss management, guests are expected to dispose of all garbage in the available garbage disposal containers provided and to not leave any garbage throughout the property at any time.

Breach of Contract
If there is a breach of any of these conditions by any of the Tenants, the Owners reserve the right to terminate the tenancy without prejudice to the other rights and remedies of the Owners. 

Authority to Sign 
The person who completes the booking form certifies that: 
1. He or she is authorized to agree the Booking conditions on behalf of all persons included on the booking form, including those substituted at a later date. 
2. The signatory is over twenty five years of age and is a member of the party intending to occupy the property. 
3. He or she agrees to take responsibility for the party occupying the property. 

Discrepancies
In case of a discrepancy between these booking conditions and the other contents of the Web site, these conditions shall prevail. 

Validity Clause
If any term or provision in these Booking Conditions shall in whole or in part be held to any extent to be illegal or unenforceable under any enactment or rule of law that term or provision or part shall to that extent be deemed not to form part of this agreement and the enforceability of the remainder of this agreement shall not be affected.
